Trump Toilet Paper:
Making America Crap Again
If you’re as fed up with this presidency as so many others are then just flush it away. A Mexican lawyer is taking it to the seat with his brand of Trump toilet paper.
Trump Brand Goes Down The Pipes
Antonio Battaglia is apparently ‘Trump’ branded toilet paper by the end of 2017.
He says 30% of the profits will go to fund programs which support migrants and Mexicans deported from the U.S.
A picture of the packaging shows a cartoon version of Trump giving a thumbs-up, alongside the slogan “softness without borders.”
The paper itself is stamped with an image of Trump’s face.
The Moment It All Began
It all started when Trump uttered an offensive comment during his candidacy for the presidency in June 2015.
It went like this:
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” Trump said. “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
Battaglia said it made him so irritated he wanted to do something that would have an impact.
The idea of toilet paper came to him because it was the kind of product that was ironic and would remain in the market for a long time.
It’s Serious Business
This is a serious business Battaglia is launching. It’s not just for gags.
He’s backed the project with $21,400 US of his own money.
Although Trump had trademarked and copyrighted the Trump brand within Mexico, Battaglia discovered the Trump trademark for “hygienic paper” had not yet been taken.
Battaglia hopes to begin selling the paper in September of 2017, but says making money from the project is secondary.
What he really wants to do is help migrants and those deported from the U.S.
We say more power to him.
