It’s an easy and DIY technique to immediately relieve stress.

Jessica Ortner is the author of “The Tapping Solution for Weight Loss and Body Confidence.”

The book guides the reader through a sequence of nine pressure points to be gently tap.

While tapping six times on each point, you are to engage in affirming self-talk.

Initially, the tapping should start on the side of your hand, up to the eyebrow, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, on the chin, on the collarbone, under the arm and the top of the head.

You should feel a diminishment of pain and stress almost immediately.

The great thing about this treatment is that you don’t need to visit a practitioner to help emply the technique once you know it.

What exactly is the EFT?

EFT is a series of gentle self-taps on various acupressure points in the body.

For example, under the eye or collarbone. Gently tapping these spots signals the brain to calm down.

Ortner swears the practice is effective for everything from back pain to weight trouble.

She cited one study in her book that found 89 women lost an average of 16 pounds over eight weeks without diet and exercise — just by adding two hours of tapping a week, which averages to 15 minutes a day.
