Trump & Mother Russia
– A Glorious Impeachment Day is Looming
If there was anyone left who supported Trump, they must surely have emerged from their Russian nesting dolls at this point. They may discover a glorious Impeachment Day has arrived. Wha wha.
If you haven’t heard, Trump and Putin got it on and there’s proof. Well, not quite.
The Firing That Started The Bonfire
What really happened was Trump fired James Comey, the FBI director, and made it plain as day why he broke up with the US’s top cop.
It was to prevent him from talking about his secret affair with the powerful Russki we all know and mistrust as Vladimir Putin.
This guy (Trump) is a disgrace to the American presidency and a serious threat to American democracy and safety.
Now it’s no longer just about Mother Russia meddling in the 2016 election. Or even whether or not Trump and his comrades were involved with the meddling.
It’s now about the public’s right to know the truth about who and what the American president is beholden to.
Since it’s quite obvious it’s not the American people or the office of the presidency.
The Smoke That Suggests a Bonfire
Now some supporters might say that we’re assuming where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
However, it’s gone waaaaay past that. The 2016 campaign is over. Shenanigans are for the stump not the presidency.
All politicians lie, but not without purpose and some backup.
Trump’s willy nilly, playing-in-traffic version of the truth defies common sense, common decency, presidential discipline and any sense of sanity.
Hillary said it many times… Trump’s not fit to serve as the U.S. president. Yet Republicans are so deep in it they are really starting to feel the heat.
Republicans on the Hill are terrified of what a truly independent and thorough probe into Trump would uncover.
They should be. Although, up until now, they’ve been willing to cover for Trump and make excuses for him.
The fact is, the heat is on and it’s starting to roar.
Journalists Are On Fire
There are reporters all around the country applying every ounce of journalistic experience they have to finding connections between Trump and Russia.
This is the kind of story that may not stay in the headlines every day like it has this week, but it won’t get any less important.
Here is a quote from long time anchor and journalist extraordinaire Dan Rather:
“When we look back at Watergate, we remember the end of the Nixon presidency. It came with an avalanche, but for most of the time my fellow reporters and I were chasing down the story as it rumbled along with a low-grade intensity. We never were quite sure how much we would find out about what really happened. In the end, the truth emerged into the light.”
Yes, Mr. Rather. And now 45 will soon go down in flames on a glorious Impeachment Day.
Thank you for reading.
I wish you many imaginative tales.
