Chicken Little – Original 1943 Version From Disney Classics – Cartoons for Teaching Kids

This is the Original 1943 version of Chicken Little From Disney Classics – And it’s NOTHING like you remember. I had to put this up because there is such phenomenal history in this Chicken Little version that is still relevant for today… frighteningly so. Why? Because you’ve got to see it BEFORE the kids do.

1943 is post World War 2. Those were hard times for America and the rest of the world. Hitler and the evil he accomplished was breathtaking and horrific. This cartoon is a testament to Disney’s sense of responsibility to help kid’s grow into mature and aware adults.

The narrator at the very beginning of the video has some very important information to share. Do not miss it.

This is the kind of story that cartoons today SHOULD be. I miss the grit, wit and edginess that cartoons used to have. Today’s children entertainment tends to be boring… and not just for the adults. It’s sad and destructive to sanitize children’s programming to the point of dull silliness.

Kids are smart. Mr. Disney knew that. Look how his version of Chicken Little teaches kids about leadership and thinking for yourself. The consequences of placing too much faith into other people’s thought processes is well… dire.

I’m old enough to remember The Roadrunner & Wile E. Coyote. Life has thrown me much greater challenges than any cartoon ever could. I think it’s time to stop talking down to children.

Let’s take a page from Disney’s script. Chicken Little and Foxy Loxy are masterful.

I wish you many imaginative tales. Renee R.
