‘Plays Well With Others’ – A Podcast About Collaboration – Comparing Ants & Editors At Wikipedia

Ants comparing to Wikipedia

We all know podcasts have exploded in the last few years… and for good reason. They are easy to consume and easy to share.

That’s why, when I came across this CreativeCommonsPodcast I had to share it.

The podcast itself is called “Plays Well With Others.” The host, Ryan Merckley, say it’s a show about collaboration and stigmergy.

“Stigmergy is a mechanism of indirect coordination, through the environment, between agents or actions,” according to Wikipedia.

In this episode, he dares to compare the communal efforts of ants with those the 80,000 volunteer editors at Wikipedia.

Perhaps surprisingly, there are a lot of similarities. We can learn a lot from ants and this podcast shows us how. Have a listen. This 23 minutes is worth the time.

I wish you many imaginative tales. Renee R.
