Nervous System Regulation Is Key To Having Peace of Mind

Posted on February 17, 2026March 21, 2026 By Writers Nexus No Comments on Nervous System Regulation Is Key To Having Peace of Mind

We live in a time when, in 2026, holistic health is evolving fast. I’ve noticed there is now a collective concern and focus on nervous system regulation — which I’m happy to see.

Spiritually, nervous system regulation is the key to finding peace of mind and being in the present moment.

I believe in our brave new world that it will be the integration of ancient practices along with modern technology, as well as, holistic approaches that will be the most effective way to combat stress and over stimulation of our nervous systems.

Nervous System Regulation Is At The Core of Peace

Becoming effective at nervous system regulation means being aware of when it’s getting out of control.

Unlike other types of regulatory systems in the body, such as thirst or sweating, we will need our conscious mind to manage nervous system regulation.

To do that having a small arsenal of techniques at the ready will make this task most effective.

Below is a short list of the things you can do every day, even many times a day to engage in nervous system regulation;

  • Breathwork
  • Micro-meditation resets of 1 to 3 minutes each
  • Vagus nerve stimulation
  • Present Moment reminders such as staring at a flower for 20 seconds
  • Somatic exercises and gentle movement
  • Going for a walk

These techniques help build nervous system and mental resilience, reduce chronic stress and cortisol release and shift to rest-and-digest states.

Meditation is essentially training for emotional regulation and adaptability of life circumstances.

Ultimately, nervous system regulation has a lot to do with feeling safe. Not just physically safe which is of course necessary, but mentally and spiritually safe as well.

Multi-Modality Methodology

In these modern times multi-sensory, cross-modality healing and integrative experiences that combine a myriad of techniques, seems to be the best approach for most.

Many are having success with frequency based healing sessions like using singing bowls, chimes or meditative music.

Other types of experiences like cupping or aromatherapy are growing.

These multi-sensory modalities address the mind-body-spirit connection simultaneously for better outcomes in nervous system regulation.

Yet, it seems that sound healing, in particular, is rising as a nervous system focused response to modern over stimulation.

Mindfulness and Meditation Apps

Mindfulness and meditation apps like AURA, emphasize daily mental hygiene.

There’s growing discussion on apps and in social circles online about meditation’s ‘dark’ side.

When meditating a lot, the consciousness is raised. People stop having the same worldly identifications they normally do.

They start to wonder who they truly are, since the self that was defined by their past and the immediate circumstances no longer ring true.

People are going to meditation apps for guidance on how to distinguish spiritual progress from mental distress.

A positive outcome of this is a growing emphasis on what is known as “shadow-work“.

In essence shadow work is where you look your fears and darkness in the face mentally, instead of distracting yourself through the various ways we do with habits and addictions.

This is often done through meditation alone or assisted with a therapist or practitioner.

Personally, I find meditation and mindfulness apps very helpful in many ways.

However, they do not — by design — delve very deeply into traumatizing topics that leave scars for a lifetime.

That’s where a skilled energy healing practitioner can help enormously as you go through your own healing process.

Ultimately, the field of holistic healing is growing tremendously as people are tired of expensive, medical treatments and pharmaceuticals.

Overall, the holistic energy healing field is moving toward sustainable practices rather than quick fixes. Ones which emphasize nervous system regulation, integration, and true raising of consciousness in this fast changing world.
