Today I want to discuss the fastest way I know of to make some money, to start a side hustle, or to start a business.
There are literally only two things you really need.
One, use what you have and two, employ speed and get it out there quickly in front of your audience and start selling as soon as possible.
#1 – So let’s look at number one – Use What You Have
Do you have skills?
Do you have knowledge that people might pay for?
What about items around the house or in storage? Do you have old clothing, books or collectibles you can sell, say on eBay?
Do you have a car? You could drive Uber or DoorDash.
I know these sound pretty simple, but sometimes, when you do things to make money quickly, you can find a way to scale it up, and turn it into a viable business.
So for example, a number of years ago, I knew someone trained in Thai massage. It’s an unusual style of massage.
Thai massage is kind of like a combination of stretching and a little bit of massage.
It’s done on the floor, the client is clothed, and there’s no oil. It’s kind of like a cross between physical therapy, stretching and massage.
He often got asked by friends and clients about how to do some of the moves. Myself included. I was fascinated with Thai Massage.
So, he decided to put together a book and video course. It’s still selling to this day. Last time I checked anyway. This was back in 2015-ish.
However, the biggest leap he made from his own course, was to create a video course platform of his own where other instructors could demonstrate other types of massage and body work and sell their own courses.
So, he took his Thai Massage skills, where it was just him working with clients one at a time, and scaled it up.
#2 – Get it out there FAST!
The point of that story, is to take whatever you have and use it to start a side hustle.
The next step is to get that out there quickly.
You have knowledge. Share it and get paid.
You have skills that somebody would want to pay you for to help them. Offer those skills and get paid.
If you’re good with social media, if you’re a good writer, there are lots of businesses that need your skills.
Check out the job boards online, where people post those types of jobs.
The kind for graphic designers, social media managers, and copywriters.
And then once you identify what you have to offer that will earn you money, get it up and going on that day. Set up a profile and advertising right away.
If you can make money the same day that you have it up and going, all the better.
So I hope that’s helped, because these two things, use what you have, and then get it out in front of a market quickly, are really the only two principles you need to know to start a business or a side hustle.
