TRANSCRIPT

Hello, this is your 3 Minute Morning, and today I want to discuss competition.

Competition, friendly competition, is wonderful in sports and in other types of games.

I think it’s a very natural thing for human beings to want to compete in a way that tests them.

You see this in kids, challenging their friends to see how fast they can run, how far they can throw a rock.

Even as adults, in professional sports, we see a lot of friendly competition, and this is great.

The idea of competition has become embedded in our everyday life.

I think, it has become synonymous with the American way that is not healthy.

We’re trying to compete with the neighbors with our cars, our clothing, our designer bags, and where we go for a vacation. It’s just so unnecessary and it’s completely egoic in nature.

It’s a waste of our life force energy.

Additionally, it goes against the laws of nature, and against divine laws.

You are truly unique, so you’re in a class by yourself.

Of course, everyone has their skills and talents, but no one has your combination of experiences and personality traits and thought patterns, intuition.

Everything that a human being is about is not the same from one to another. It’s vastly different and complex.

So I encourage you to discover more about the complexities in you, to understand that you don’t need to compete with anybody.

In fact, your only competition is who you were yesterday. What have you done today to get a little bit better?

Just a little bit. That’s how most every type of transformation happens. Most of us have to take small, daily, incremental steps to improve.

As long as you’re doing that, you’re moving ahead. Besides, you are the only person you have to answer to. Doesn’t matter what they think, you’re not in competition with them.

Find your way, be your wonderful, unique self, and you will win. And winning, in this sense, is freedom. Freedom of thought. Freedom from worry.

You being independent, not being a slave to what the neighbors think, or what some celebrity might be wearing, and trying to emulate them. Freedom.

Knowing that your only competition is you, frees you to worry only about your own actions.

Isn’t that everyone’s one responsibility? Is to take care of themselves, and that way they have a lot more to give.

So I hope that’s helped, thank you for listening, and I wish you a very prosperous day.
