King's Finders Keepers Sneak Peek Critique

A Sneak Peek Critique© of Stephen King’s Finders Keepers (Video)

Sneak Peek Critiques© is all about the FIRST 8 SENTENCES of any book or story. Most editors and literary agents know within the first 8 lines whether or not they want to keep reading a manuscript.

As a writer and editor myself, I have found this to be true.

So, today we take a look at Stephen King’s Finders Keepers.

Stepen King has not always been a favorite of mine. His earlier novels were too gross and blood soaked from me. Although, I think Carrie is a masterpiece of sorts.

Finders Keepers is a crime novel by American writer Stephen King, published on June 2, 2015.

It is the second volume in a trilogy focusing on Detective Bill Hodges, following Mr. Mercedes.s.

The very first line of this novel is BRILLIANT. Read more below…

“Wake up genius.”

The genius is John Rothstein, an iconic author who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn’t published a book for decades.

Morris Bellamy is a reader, fan, criminal and absolutely livid. Not just because Rothstein has stopped providing books, but because the nonconformist Jimmy Gold has sold out for a career in advertising.

Morris kills Rothstein and empties his safe of cash, yes, but the real treasure is a trove of notebooks containing at least one more Gold novel.
